This morning, I had a 6 mile run on the books, but when I woke up at 6am (actually 5am because my phone is not smart, and did not actually re-set itself to reflect daylight savings time,) my right knee was really sore, and a bit swollen. It hurt to bend my knee, and because of the swelling, and pain, I made the decision to sit the run out. Even though we are only nine weeks away from our second half marathon. Even though I had actually been looking forward to this run.
The inside of my right knee hurts, and just under my knee cap, so I’ve been icing it and taking ibuprofen all day, hoping it will feel better tomorrow so I can continue with my training. My dad told me, he frequently gets pain in his knees where I described my pain, so…yay? It’s possible it’s tendinitis. I want to be careful so I don’t end up injuring myself, but I’ve got a lot going on in the next few weeks, including dancing with a team at a major Irish dance competition, and running my second half marathon in January.
Today, we were also supposed to do laundry. I say supposed to because, well, we didn’t do it. We decided to put it off until I get paid on Wednesday, which should make for some interesting wardrobe choices in the next couple of days. Jasmine wrote the other day of her dislike for laundry, and I have to agree with her. It’s especially terrible when you don’t have a washer and dryer in your house/apartment. We have to drive to our laundromat.
On a happier note, a big congratulations to Ashley over at A Healthy, Happier Bear for completing the New York Marathon today!! I’m still terrified by the idea of running a full marathon, so major props to you, Ashley!
