1/1/11

2011: Day one, currently being spent hungover.  It’s been a while since I’ve been really hungover, but it was worth it.  We hosted a party at our apartment last night, and rang in the New Year with some of my favorite people watching Snooki drop in a ball, and singing “I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That)”

Right now, I’m still in my PJs, eating chips and leftover dip while I wait for Travis to get back from Baja Fresh.  Yes, I know it’s 3pm, and no, I don’t care.  I’ve spent basically the whole day in bed, but, that’s fine by me.   Last night was so much fun, there was singing, some dancing, some drunk attempted Scrabble.  Seriously, I have no idea what words we even attempted.

I’m also going to be drinking lots and lots of water, since I’ve got a 12 miler tomorrow morning.  I wasn’t stressed about not working out on the first day of the year, because I knew I’d be bustin ass tomorrow :)   How did you ring in 2011?

Happy Monday, everyone.  We are now in the home stretch.  It’s 5 days to Christmas.

Last night, some friends and I went to see It’s a Wonderful Life at the Aero theater in Santa Monica.  I’d never seen the movie all the way through before, and while, I did enjoy it, I also noticed quite a few culturally insensitive moments.  Oh, 1940s.  Seriously though, mean old Mr. Potter makes a comment about “garlic eaters.”  They couldn’t say Mary was “pregnant,” but they can call people “garlic eaters.”  Gotta love old Hollywood.

There’s something about Holiday movies that I just love, though.  What’s your favorite Holiday movie? Mine is definitely A Christmas Story (You’ll shoot your eye out!)

After the movie, we walked to Father’s Office.  I’d never been before, and I had a burger and some fries, and it was delicious.   I didn’t bring my camera with me, but trust me, their food was delicious.  I also had a few sips of Kern River Just Outstanding IPA.

This week is busy, busy.  I’ve still got presents to wrap, packing to do, and holiday gift exchange and birthday drinks, not to mention my marathon of a day coming up on Wednesday.  I’m exhausted just thinking about it all.
